Villarreal look to resume their rise back up the La Liga standings on Sunday when they play host to Valladolid at El Madrigal.
Villarreal had won two straight league games before being beaten 3-2 by Sevilla a fortnight ago before the international break. They did, however, advance in the Copa del Rey with a narrow aggregate win over Puertollano.
Valladolid, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last three league games, including a 0-0 draw with Xerez before the hiatus. They were dumped out of the Copa del Rey on away goals by Mallorca.
Santi Cazorla continues to be out of action for Villarreal, as is Damián Escudero. Marcos Senna is fit again and should feature on Sunday.
Valladolid enjoy the return of Sisi to action after a month-leg injury hiatus, but Fabián Canobbio is ruled out with a damaged calf.
Villarreal are playing at home and will be hungry for a win to get back on track to distancing themselves from the drop zone. The Yellow Submarine should be the favorites.
