VfL Wolfsburg vs. 1. FSV Mainz 05, 3:3

Luke Williams - 31 Oct 2009
Champions Wolfsburg will be desperate to fight their way back into title contention on Saturday, but they face a tough Round 11 test when they host Mainz. Wolfsburg were held to a disappointing draw away to bottom side Hertha Berlin last weekend, dropped points that could come back to haunt the club later in the season. Mainz, meanwhile, sit level on points with Wolfsburg and have been one of the surprise packages of the season. Mainz were 3-0 winners at home over Freiburg last Saturday. The champions will not have the services of striker Grafite, who is being held back by manager Armin Veh after the player's red card in the Champions League against Besiktas. Karim Ziani and Thomas Kahlenberg are also injury absences for Wolfsburg. Mainz, meanwhile, have no new injury concerns, although Dimo Wache, Christian Wetklo, Félix Borja and Marco Rose continue to sit out with injuries. The oddsmakers see Wolfsburg as a heavy favorite, and Mainz's very questionable away form is a huge reason for that. Expect Wolfsburg to come out desperately seeking points after a disappointing result last week. REVIEW:
