Unión Deportiva Almería vs. Athletic Club, 1:4

Luke Williams - 29 Nov 2009
Athletic Bilbao look to remain in the hunt for the European places on Sunday when they travel south to take on Almería in La Liga action. The home side lost 3-1 away to Mallorca, but have just one win in their last four league matches. This slide in form has seen them drop to 13th place in the league table, just five points above the drop zone. Bilbao did well to earn an impressive 1-1 home draw against FC Barcelona last weekend, and they could end up seventh on Sunday with a victory on the road. Since the two sides have met in La Liga, Bilbao have not beaten Almería in four games. For Hugo Sánchez's Almería side, Swedish striker Henok Goitom is set to make a long-awaited debut for the squad after missing all of this season with injuries. Defender Chico and midfielder Miguel Nieto are set to miss out due to injury, and Fabián Vargas may not quite be fit to feature. Bilbao manager Joaquín Caparrós enjoys the return of starlet Iker Muniain after an injury layoff, but striker Gaizka Toquero is a big loss for the visitors. Xabier Etxeita and David López are also set to miss out. Aitor Ocio, Iban Zubizaurre and Iñaki Muñoz are long-term absences for the Basque side. Form favors the visitors, but Almería are due for a strong performance at home. Look for a close game that could favor the home side. REVIEW:
