t’s a topsy-turvy League this Serie A as demonstrated in the contrasting fortunes of Sampdoria and Roma.
Sampdoria started the season in blistering form, notching up wins, including one over Inter, which sent them to the top of the table.
Roma, on the other hand, were in turmoil, losing their opening two games and a trainer as well, as Luciano Spalletti resigned.
However it's Week 16 and Sampdoria are now engulfed in a crisis after three defeats in a row, the first coming in the derby against Genoa, the second in the Coppa Italia and the third a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Milan.
Meanwhile Roma have really started to hit form, recording three wins in a row in Serie A, the latter coming in the derby against Lazio.
The Giallorossi are a point adrift of the Champions League places and have a real chance of breaking into the top four if they win their two remaining games of 2009 in Serie A.
Roma will be without Philippe Mexes and David Pizarro who are both suspended.
