SS Lazio Roma vs. AC Milan, 1:2

Luke Williams - 8 Nov 2009
Lazio host Milan at the Stadio Olimpico as Week 12 of Serie A resumes on Sunday. Not since the 1997-98 season have Lazio beaten Milan at home in Serie A, a total of 10 games unbeaten for the Rossoneri. Kaka and Alberto Gilardino both struck doubles in a 5-1 thrashing of the Biancocelesti two years ago, whilst David Beckham was star of the show with two assists last term as Milan left the capital with a 3-0 win. And Davide Ballardini’s men are woefully underperforming and without a League win since Week 2. They at least avoided three consecutive defeats with a 1-1 draw at Siena last Sunday. The 2-1 win over Roma on matchday eight has acted as a catalyst for the Rossoneri's and since then they have bested Real Madrid, Chievo and Parma, the only blip being their late collapse in the 2-2 draw with Napoli. Marco Borriello’s return to scoring form against Parma is great news for Milan and Italy, but not Klaas Jan Huntelaar, who is likely to be consigned to the bench once more. Lazio’s Simone Del Nero, Ousmane Dabo and Mourad Meghni are injured. Milan are missing Daniele Bonera, Christian Abbiati, Marco Storari, Alessandro Nesta, Marek Jankulovski and Oguchi Onyewu.
