Real Zaragoza vs. Athletic Club, 1:2

Luke Williams - 12 Dec 2009
Athletic Bilbao can move within striking distance of the European places on Saturday when they travel to struggling Zaragoza in round 14 of La Liga. The Basque side currently sit in eighth place on 20 points after last week's disappointing 2-1 defeat at home at the hands of Valencia. It was the club's first league loss in four matches. Zaragoza, meanwhile, sit two points and one place above the bottom three of the league and could be a candidate for the drop later this season if they don't find their form. After last week's 4-1 thrashing in Mallorca, they now have won just once in their last eight league games. The home side will be without the services of midfielder Leonardo Ponzio through suspension and Javier Arizmendi through injury. Carlos Diogo is back in the team after recovering from knee surgery. Athletic are in better shape as only defender Koikili is out through suspension, and David López is a question mark, but could be on the bench. Bilbao are in better form despite last week's loss, but Zaragoza are in desperate need of points. Expect the home side to come out firing as they look to get their season back on track as the year draws nearer to a close. REVIEW:
