Real Valladolid Club de Fútbol vs. Xerez CD, 0:0

Luke Williams - 8 Nov 2009
Xerez look to move off the bottom of the La Liga table on Sunday, but they face a difficult trip to Valladolid. Valladolid drew 1-1 at Espanyol last weekend, and they have not played Xerez since February 2007 in the Segunda. Valladolid have been in good goalscoring form, but they have been prone to allowing many goals as well. Xerez, on the other hand, have dropped two straight league matches since beating Villarreal 2-1 Valladolid will be without Jacobo Sanz yet again due to injury, and it is yet to be seen if Pedro López can recover in time for kickoff after a training-ground injury forced him to the sidelines. Xerez will certainly be without skipper Jesús Mendoza with a nagging leg injury that has forced him out for several games, but the squad will otherwise be unchanged from last weekend. Xerez have the worst goal differential in the league, and that will not help them against a fairly strong attack from Valladolid. Look for the home side to come through in this one. REVIEW:
