Real Racing Club de Santander vs. Xerez CD, 3:2

Luke Williams

A battle of two of La Liga's bottom three takes place on Sunday at El Sardinero as Racing Santander play host to bottom side Xerez. Racing sit third from bottom on 10 points, but they ran rampant a week ago in a 4-0 thrashing of Espanyol in Barcelona. Racing have only one point in six home games thus far on the campaign, and the home supporters will be eager to see them break their home duck. Xerez, on the other hand, sit firmly at the bottom of the league. They have lost three in a row, including last week's 2-0 defeat at home to Atlético Madrid. They have just one victory on the season, coming on 18 October against Villarreal. Racing manager Miguel Ángel Portugal has three players - goalkeeper Toño, striker Luis García, and midfielder Sergio Canales - all out due to injury. In addition, influential midfielder Oscar Serrano is suspended after picking up a fifth booking last week. Xerez, meanwhile, continue to be without Emiliano Armenteros, Jesús Mendoza and Giancarlo Maldonado with injuries. Those injuries are crucial for a side that has scored just four goals in 14 games this season. Racing have not won at home this season, but this would be the ideal fixture for them to break that streak. After last week's stunning performance, look for the home side to come out strong and grab three points. REVIEW:
