Real Racing Club de Santander vs. Athletic Club, 0:2

Luke Williams - 8 Nov 2009
Racing Santander look to avoid a potential drop into the bottom three on Sunday when they bring a six-match unbeaten run in league play into a game against Athletic Bilbao. Racing lost 1-0 at Mallorca a week ago, and the north coast side have not won a La Liga match since 19 September when they got their only victory of the season over Málaga. Bilbao beat Atlético Madrid 1-0 last weekend, and they currently sit ninth in the league standings on 13 points. They were held 1-1 at Portuguese side Nacional in Europa League play on Thursday. Santander manager Juan Carlos Mandia did not report any injuries that would force changes to his squad during the week as Mehdi Lacen and Oscar Serrano are fit. Bilbao, however, have several woes to worry about. Gaizka Toquero, Fran Yeste and Aitor Ocio are all set to miss out with various injuries, and Ustaritz picked up a knock in the Europa League, but could be fit to play. Bilbao have struggled away from home as of late, and that could be just the edge Santander need to claim a victory. Look for them to squeak out a close game. REVIEW:
