Portsmouth Football Club vs. Sunderland Association Football Club, 3:1

Luke Williams - 18 May 2009
Portsmouth are far away enough from the relegation zone to stop worrying, but this can't be said about Sunderland who still need the points in order to relax. The two sides have been showing a similar shape recently, both having earned only one point from their last three matches. It is fair to say that the season was a failure to both, although Sunderland could have done worse as they were stuck in the relegation zone earlier this season. Portsmouth's Noe Pamarot returns from suspension while Armand Traore recovered from a groin problem and might feature as well. Sunderland could be boosted by the return of defender George McCartney, who missed the side's last six games. Craig Gordon and Nyron Nosworthy are out injured though. Portsmouth are favored to win this match but a draw shouldn't be a strange result either. REVIEW:
