Olympique Lyonnais vs. Debreceni VSC, 4:0

Luke Williams - 9 Dec 2009
Olympique Lyonnais host Group E's whipping boys Debreceni VSC at the Stade de Gerland as Match Day 6 of UEFA Champions League resumes on Wednesday night. Lyon, who are win-less since October, have had a torrid start to the winter season with the latest defeat coming in the weekend against Lille - a 4-3 rout even after a sparkling half-time hat-trick from striker Lisandro Lopez. Lyon, if they are to avoid a tougher opponent in the Round of 16, must beat an out-of-sorts Debrecen side by a margin of two goals or more and hope Fiorentina fail to beat Liverpool, to top the group. Meanwhile, Debrecen's league form is in contrast to their Champions League campaign, that has seen them concede five defeats and shipping in 15 goals. And on Wednesday, Robert Feczesin and Vukasin Poleksic are ready to sit out of the game due to knee and back problems respectively. But Leandro and Jozsef Varga are expected to overcome their ailments to feature. For Les Gones, central defenders Cleber Anderson and Mathieu Bodmer will not feature as both have been long-term issues. Left-back Aly Cissokho has been suffering from a groin injury of late and will also not feature but Michel Bastos will return to the team after missing the defeat in Lille due to suspension. REVIEW:
