Liverpool Football Club vs. Blackburn Rovers Football Club, 4:0

Luke Williams - 11 Apr 2009
Liverpool aim to re-apply pressure on Premiership leaders Manchester United then whe Reds host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. Three days after their disappointing 1-3 defeat by Chelsea in the Champions League, Rafael Benitez' men need to recover their focus and remember that they had in fact been on an impressive winning streak ahead of the European clash. Blackburn have done relatively well in recent games, coming off a surprising 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur last week that led them further away from the English danger zone. Liverpool are probably without captain Steven Gerrard, who picked up a knock against Chelsea and should focus on recovering for the return leg. Javier Mascherano returns from suspension. Blackburn have to do without Jason Roberts and Morten Gamst Pedersen and Roque Santa Cruz isn't very likely to play either. Vince Grella returns from injury. Rovers haven't won at Anfield Road since 1993, and nothing points at them doing so this year. REVIEW:
