Sam Allardyce takes his Blackburn Rovers side to face Hull City at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
But the two sides are separated by two points at the lower end of the Premier League table - Hull City in 16th and Rovers four places above them.
The Tigers will be looking to get back to winning ways after their 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa last weekend, which also saw the loss of record-signing Jimmy Bullard through injury.
Allardyce takes a rejuvenated Blackburn side to Yorkshire, with their last two meetings boasting a Carling Cup victory over Chelsea and a draw against Liverpool.
Hull have injury doubts over defenders Anthony Gardner and Andy Dawson, though Brown believes they could be fit despite missing training this week.
Midfielder Seyi Olofinjana is back in contention after missing four games with a hamstring injury. His return could help to offset the loss of star player Jimmy Bullard, who faces six to eight weeks on the sidelines.
Bernard Mendy has recovered from a leg problem and Brown may consider recalling fit-again goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.
Blackburn are unlikely to risk midfielder David Dunn at the KC Stadium as he continues his recovery from a calf problem.
REVIEW:
Hull City spurned some excellent chances to unlock Blackburn Rover's defence as the sides' drew 0-0 at the KC Stadium.
It was match which went through dull periods of play before exploding into life late on.
Keeper Paul Robinson had a good game for the visitors, but he should have been beaten early on by Craig Fagan.
After Stephen Hunt and Richard Garcia also shot weakly for Hull, Blackburn substitute Nikola Kalinic missed three opportunities in quick succession. And Hull's Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was equally guilty of being unable to break the deadlock.
The Dutchman, brought on late in the game as Hull boss Phil Brown searched desperately for someone to be a hero for the hosts, missed the last two genuine chances of the match.
This was probably more a case of two points lost for Hull than a point gained, given their precarious position just above the relegation zone and with some tough fixtures to come.
Blackburn, who had lost 11 of their past 12 league games on the road, had limited ambitions for most of the match, until Kalinic got involved halfway through the second period.
