Hannover return to AWD-Arena for the first time since the death of goalkeeper and captain Robert Enke for a Sunday date in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
In their first match since the tragic suicide of Enke, Hannover were beaten 2-0 away to Schalke last weekend to slip to 12th in the Bundesliga table.
Bayern have slipped all the way to eighth in the table and they run the risk of falling out of the title race early if they drop points on Sunday. They were held to a 1-1 home draw by Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, but beat Maccabi Haifa 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Hannover have no new injuries to report, but several players - Leon Balogun, Leon Andreasen, Altin Lala, Sal Zizzo and Mikael Forssell - continue to be long-term absences for Andreas Bergmann's side.
Bayern manager Louis van Gaal is facing enormous pressure from fans and club officials alike as the club slide down the table. He will have to deal with several injuries as Miroslav Klose, Franck Ribery and Hamit Altintop are all set to miss out. Arjen Robben is also a doubt, but Ivica Olic is fit to start.
There will be a lot of emotion as Hannover fans get to pay tribute en masse to their fallen skipper. Look for a shock result as Hannover get the points.
