Getafe Club de Fútbol vs. CD Tenerife, 2:1

Luke Williams - 13 Dec 2009
Fresh off a gutwrenching loss to Villarreal last Sunday, Getafe return home to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez for a home match against Tenerife. Getafe dropped a two-goal lead last week against nine-man Villarreal in a 3-2 defeat, breaking a run of back-to-back wins for the Madrid-based side. They currently sit ninth place, and could gain some ground on the European spots. Tenerife come into the game off last week's 2-1 home victory against Sporting Gijón, breaking a run of four straight gamems without a victory. The side from the Canary Islands sit mid-table, four points above the drop zone. Getafe will be without Fabio Celestini, Javi Casquero and David Cortés through injury, and leading scorer Roberto Soldado is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season last week. Tenerife, meanwhile, have no major injury concerns ahead of Sunday's match, but they will still need a fantastic effort in order to grab their first win away from home this season. As mentioned, Tenerife's road form (one point in six games) has been atrocious this season. For this reason, give the advantage to Getafe despite the injury and suspension problems for the home side.
