Genoa host Siena at the Stadio Ferraris, as Week 12 of Serie A resumes on Sunday.
Marco Baroni is undefeated after his first game in charge of Siena at the weekend, as the Robur steadied the ship and got a credible 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Lazio, coming back from behind to earn a deserved point.
The departure of chief playmaker Houssine Kharja, who joined Genoa in the summer, has also left the Robur short of ideas up front. Unfortunately Kharja won’t be playing against his old club on Sunday, as he is out for six months with a serious knee injury suffered while on international duty.
Siena might also look to take advantage of Genoa’s tiredness. The Rossoblu play Lille in the Europa League on Thursday night and have so far found it very difficult to maintain any level of consistency on three fronts.
That said, Genoa are now unbeaten in their last two outings in Serie A and always represent something of a formidable opponent at home.
