Futbol Club Barcelona vs. Manchester United FC, 2:0

At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome Manchester United takes on Barcelona. Both sides go into this match as champions of their respective countries and are arguably the best two sides currently playing in Europe. Manchester United are the current Champions League holders. Apart from Dimitar Berbatov, they have a squad full of players who have already experienced, and come through, the pressure of club football’s biggest match. Barcelona also have experience in their side. However, , only Carlos Puyol, Samuel Eto’o, Rafael Marquez and Victor Valdes remain from the side that lifted the trophy three years ago in 2006. Barcelona’s defence has been suspect all season, and they looked vulnerable when Chelsea hit them on the counter attack. In Manchester United, they will be up against one of the best counter-attacking sides in the world. The additional problem for Barcelona is that they will be without key men at the back. Captain, Carlos Puyol will be back from suspension, however, his regular partner Rafael Marquez is out for the season, and coach Pep Guardiola will have to cope without his two first choice fullbacks, Eric Abidal and Dani Alves, who are both suspended. The only players likely to be missing For Manchester United are Darren Fletcher who is suspended after his red card against Arsenal and Owen Hargreaves who has had a long-term injury. Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to employ the same tactics that he did against Arsenal in the semi final. He used his midfield to break down the Arsenal attacks. The match is being billed as a clash between Lionel Messi (Barcelona) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United). Whatever the outcome of this duel is, we can expect one great match with Manchester United being slight favourites to win REVIEW:
