FC Bayern München vs. TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, 1:1

Luke Williams - 22 Nov 2009
Looking desperately to renew their title hopes in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich take to the pitch on Sunday in a crucial match against joint leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern have scuffled a bit as of late, sandwiching a Champions League loss to Bordeaux in between league draws against Stuttgart and Schalke, their last match before a two-week international break. Bayern now eighth in the table on 20 points, six back of the leaders. Leverkusen, meanwhile, dropped slightly behind Werder Bremen on goal difference, but they have Sunday's game in hand to retake sole possession of first place. Before the international break, Leverkusen broke a string of three straight league draws with a 4-0 thrashing over Eintracht Frankfurt at the BayArena. Bayern only have two injury concerns ahead of Sunday's key match, with Franck Ribéry (knee) and Andreas Görlitz (foot) ruled out for the game. Leverkusen are still without several key players recovering from injuries. Simon Rolfes, Renato Augusto, Patrick Helmes and Michal Kadlec are all sidelined for the clash. This could prove to be a very tight game with both sides desperately craving three points. Leverkusen could sneak a goal or two and claim a share of the spoils, but a slight edge to a hungry Bayern at home. REVIEW:
