DSC Arminia Bielefeld vs. Karlsruher SC, 1:2

Luke Williams - 3 Oct 2008
Arminia Bielefeld and Karlsruher SC could both really use a win on Friday, as any other result might have them end up in the bottom zone of the Bundesliga. Karlsruhe haven't beaten Arminia in ten years. Bielefeld won four of the nine meetings since, and the other five ended in draws. Arminia manager Frontzeck is without the injured Kirch, who should be replaced with Halfar. Timm and Miller are probably left out of Karlsruher's squad, which gives Kornetsky and Kennedy a chance to shine. Being the home side, Arminia have the better chances. However, a draw seems to be the most likely outcome. REVIEW: Karlsruher SC earned their first win over Arminia Bielefeld in ten years, and begin to move away from the relegation zone. Porcello put Karlsruher in the lead after sixteen minutes with preparing work from Da Silva. And the visiting side doubled their advantage seven minutes into the second half, as Kennedy enabled Freis to strike past Eilhoff for 0-2. Herzig headed home from a Sadik assist in the 86th minute, but it was too little, too late for the home side.
