Club Atlético de Madrid vs. Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol, 4:0

Luke Williams - 29 Nov 2009
Atlético Madrid could fall to the bottom of the table on Sunday if they fall at home in a La Liga encounter with visiting Espanyol. Quique Sánchez-Flores' men are second from bottom, but are one of three teams that sit on just seven points for the season. They were beaten 2-1 by Deportivo last weekend when an injury-time penalty doomed them. They did come from a goal behind to earn a draw against APOEL in the Champions League on Wednesday. Espanyol, meanwhile, have slipped down to 10th place in the league after last weekend's 2-0 home loss to Getafe. The Barcelona-based side have not won in four league games, and they have scored just one goal in that stretch. Atlético will be without Florent Sinama-Pongolle, Raúl García and Roberto due to injury, but Tomas Ujfalusi, Paulo Assunção and Juanito are set to return to the squad after missing out for various reasons. Espanyol will be without captain Iván de la Peña and Fernando Marqués with injuries, and Nico Pareja and Iván Alonso are also set to miss out for the Catalan side. Atlético have been in better goalscoring form as of late, but their defense has been a problem. Atlético have won the last three against Espanyol, and look for the home side to break their funk on Sunday. REVIEW:
