Cagliari Calcio vs. UC Sampdoria, 2:0

Luke Williams - 8 Nov 2009
Sampdoria face a difficult task as they travel to Sardinia to visit Cagliari at the historically hostile Stadio Sant’Elia. Cagliari’s run has been impressive in recent weeks. They approach this game on the back of three straight wins including last Sunday’s victory over Atalanta. The Sardinians are currently ninth with 16 points. The Blucerchiati may be one of the best sides around but in recent weeks they have failed to show that. On Sunday they were lucky to avoid a home defeat to Bari. They are still third in the table though. Allegri should leave Simone Barone and Daniele Dessena out. Since Lino Marzoratti is injured, Michele Canini will continue to play on the right. Up front Alessandro Matri is doubtful but he should be preferred to Jeda. Del Neri was hoping to recover Franco Semioli and Marco Padalino, but the duo will be back only after the Serie A break. Fernando Tissone is in competition for a shirt with Andrea Poli, while Cassano will be up front. REVIEW:
