Third-placed Schalke look to continue their assault on the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday, but they will face a test when they travel to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Gladbach were 2-1 winners over Eintracht Frankfurt a week ago, and they are unbeaten in four straight games after a five-game losing streak that saw them slide down the table. They now sit 12th on 15 points.
Schalke, meanwhile, were 2-0 winners over Hannover a week ago in an emotionally-charged match, and they have not lost in seven games. Their last defeat came on 18 September in a home loss to Wolfsburg.
Gladbach manager Michael Frontzeck will again miss out on the serices of skipper Filip Daems with a recurring foot injury. Gal Alberman is also set to miss out yet again for the home side.
Schalke are without Levan Kenia and Vasilios Pliatsikas with injuries, and both Christian Pander and Jermaine Jones are rehabbing, but will not return any time soon.
Schalke should be able to produce a strong enough performance to grab a result on the road.
