Jose Mourinho can pile the pressure on his Juventus counterpart Ciro Ferrara with a Saturday night win over Bologna. Should his Inter troops leave the university city with all three points they will open up an eight point gap between themselves and Juventus ahead of the Turin club’s match on Sunday.
And while a positive result for Bologna this weekend seems a long shot then it would be worth a punt on them to at least score, they have rippled the net in their last eight matches. Plus, with two wins on the trot on their home turf the Rossoblu won’t be afraid of welcoming the Nerazzurri.
However, Inter have won four out of their five away games this term. They have conceded just two goals on their travels. If you think the Bolognese club have a good scoring record take a look at the Serpenti’s stats. In 12 games only Sampdoria have shut them out. Bologna though will be keen to keep it tight and Inter will be made to work for their result.
Midfielder Massimo Mutarelli has been ruled out for Bologna along with Brazilian defender Rafael Santos. Meanwhile, young full-back Davide Santon and influential Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder will be unavailable to Inter due to injury – as will teenage Nigerian Joel Chukwuma Obii.
These two sides met in February, when Inter came out 2-1 winners. The Nerazzurri though needed a goal from Mario Balotelli in the last 10 minutes of the game to earn the three points after Britos had levelled Esteban Cambiasso’s opener. SuperMario had been on the pitch for just 120 seconds when he bagged the equaliser.
