Coach Joaquin Caparros will be without the injured Ander Murillo and Joseba Del Olmo, while the he has also left Ustaritz Aldekoaotalora, Inigo Velez, Joseba Garmendia and Joseba Etxeberria out of his squad. Real Madrid were humiliated 4 – 0 by Liverpool during the week as they had to exit from this season’s Champions League. Whether this defeat has affected them or not, remains to be seen. They are still six points behind Barcelona and the good recent work that has seen them chip way at Barcelona’s lead could now have been undone. Besides the long injury list, Juande Ramos will be without Guti who is sidelined with an adductor injury, while Fabio Cannavaro and Javi Garcia remain major doubts. Fernando Gago and Michel Salgado are both suspended after picking up their fifth booking of the season. It may take a week or two for Real Madrid’s confidence to be restored.
