AC Milan vs. Cagliari Calcio, 4:3

Luke Williams - 22 Nov 2009
AC Milan are determined to build on their positive run prior to the international break when they resume their Serie A campaign at home to Cagliari tomorrow. The Rossoneri are unbeaten in the last seven and have won four of the last five, but lie seven points off the pace set by city rivals and defending champions Inter Milan. Cagliari certainly aren’t likely to replicate their 1970 Scudetto triumph, but picking up their fifth win on the trot, at San Siro no less, would be a powerful statement of intent. Allegri’s squad look well capable of reaching the Europa League, having recently put Lazio and both Genovese sides to the Sardinian sword. Davide Biondini and Federico Marchetti’s Azzurri appearances midweek will only have added to the feel good factor. Milan remain without Oguchi Onyewu, Daniele Bonera, Rino Gattuso and Marek Jankulovski due to injury, whilst Alessandro Nesta is suspended. Kakha Kaladze has declared himself available for selection following injury to boost a defence. Cagliari’s Andrea Cossu is also suspended, whereas Francesco Pisano and Lino Marzoratti are injured.
