Werder Bremen can move back within one point of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga on Sunday when they travel to face Köln.
After Leverkusen's 0-0 draw at Hannover, Bremen are within striking distance if they can recover from last week's 2-2 home draw against Wolfsburg. They were dominant in the Europa League on Thursday with a 4-1 win over Nacional. They are unbeaten in 13 league matches.
For Köln, they have slipped to within one point of the bottom three after last week's 0-0 draw at Bochum. Only four of their 13 points have been earned at home during this current campaign.
The home side have no injuries to report for the match on Sunday, but manager Zvonimir Soldo has omitted Carsten Cullmannn, Christian Clemens and Adam Matuschyk from the squad.
Bremen manager Thomas Schaaf continues to be without Claudio Pizarro due to injury, and goalkeeper Tim Wiese is also set to miss out with an illness. Sebastian Mielitz will deputize for the visitors, and Felix Wiedwald will backup. Christian Vander is also out injured.
Bremen will be hungry to bounce back from last week's dropped points, and they should be able to win this match comfortably.
